Young and In Love!

Since I love forcing people to watch my wedding video, we invited some friends over to watch all of our videos and relive one of the happiest days of our lives (the other being when our kids were born, but lets be honest, nobody wants to watch each other's birthing videos.) It just so happens we all got married in 2004 and all in the same place too!

Vancouver is the home of the 2010 Winter Olympics AND the Best Missionary Ever!

Robert's little brother Michael got his mission call to Canada!
He is the one in the red footy pajamas.
He is going to the Vancouver mission, Spanish speaking!
I KNNOW he is going to be the most EXCELLENT missionary! Congratulations Michael! We are super excited and proud of you!!

My Little Pumpkins!

There are approximately 10,920 cars per hour on the US 60 during rush hour...I counted!

On the way to pick up our other car from getting fixed, our tire blew on the freeway during rush hour. Since we were stranded Robert didn't get to go deliver pizzas, and I didn't get to make Prop 102 phone calls (VOTE YES!) but we did have a fun filled hour waiting for AAA.
Besides taking funny pictures, we stacked rocks and counted cars, only for one minute. There were 182.
Seven good samaritans stopped to offer help, and the last one insisted on GIVING us his spare tire so we wouldin't have to keep waiting for AAA. He even put it on for us! The world is FULL of nice people!
So, are roadside family fun has inspired a joke...Q: What kind of fish do you get when you mix it with an automobile? A: CARp

NEIL...a DIAMOND in the rough!

My sweetie Robert edited a wedding video for our awesome friend Jeff, who works for a radio station, and he gave us FRONT ROW tickets to see NEIL DIAMOND!! Robert, opted for a brother's night, so I brought Emily, my great friend and fellow Neil groupie!
Emily and I anxiously waiting, just minutes before his life changing performance! Our hearts were beating ten times faster than everyone in the crowd, and not just because we were the youngest ones there by fifty years or more.
We made friends with the gals in row 2, Oietta and Sonia. They gave us honey straws and we even exchanged addresses. What can I say, Neil brings people together man! There was even a time during "Sweet Caroline" when my arms just jumped right out of the sockets and reached out for Emily and the very old gentleman to me, and we all just swayed to the music! After his thrid encore of the song, I decided with 100% certainty that our next girl's name is Caroline!
The only thing standing between us and Neil was the middle-aged security guard, who informed us many times that he was retired military. We were the least of his worries though! There was a lady there who looked as though she had tried everything the sixties had to offer, and she insisted on handing the guard post-it notes to give to Mr. Diamond, and offering him 100 grand to let her go up to the stage. Anyway, the concert was amazing and Em and I had so much fun! It couldn't have been better! Here is a little clip for all of you other Die-hard Diamond fans!

Yes, my step-mom and her husband bought Sonny and Cher costumes (SHE is Sonny and HE is Cher), and they have been practicing lipsyncing "I Got You Babe" for the last few months. I recorded the debut appearance they made at a friend's birthday party, but I left out the strip tease/costume change towards the end of the song. One of them ends up topless. I'll just let you guess if it's Sonny or Cher.

When we got home we were all too excited to sleep, so Noelle played with balloons.
And Stanton stayed up until 11pm playing with all of his new toys. What a fun day!

And now, he's all grown up, and turning two! He's turned into such a big boy! He can throw a ball as far as most adults, and he can say almost 100 words! (Although fork sounds like a profanity and he calls a dinosaur a "gyno.") Happy Birthday Stanton! WE LOVE YOU!

So there it was, our .5 seconds of fame. I realize I moved my neck back and forth like a bobble head. Don't judge me. I was nervous! They cut out my pretty little Noelle. I was holding her in my other arm. I bet they didn't want other baby girls to be jealous of her beauty! They also cut out over half of the interview. Robert said it's standard procedure in the news biz.

Channel 12 News Says We're Rock Stars!

WE"RE FAMOUS!!
This morning we were at the mall, and some lady asked us if we wanted to make our own music video, and we said, "Oh boy, do we ever!" So she put us in this booth with a fake crowd in the background, turned on some Bon Jovi, and we sang and danced like rockstars! However, somewhere towards the middle of our song, Stanton decided that fame wasn't his thing, and he cried until I sang "The Wise Man Built His House Upon a Rock." By the time Bon Jovi reached the last line of "Livin' On A Prayer," we'd already identified our head, shoulders, knees and toes, and we were looking out our windows to see the popcorn popping on the apricot trees. It turned out to be quite the video! As we were leaving, Channel 12 asked us for an interview, so we told them how much fun we had, and they put us on their 4:30pm newscast!
I realize Channel 12 is the station that made me and my kids famous, but my heart still belongs to Channel 5 though. Their noon producer is THE BEST!

Stanton and Noelle go crowd surfing!

Robert and I went to a free punk rock concert tonight at Tempe Marketplace, and we took our kids. I know what you're thinking, "first The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, and now this." Well, in our defense we weren't the worst parents there. The lady with the toddler who had a mo-hawk, a fake tatoo and a skull and cross bones shirt toally had us beat.
Anyway, The Ataris happen to be our favorite band (until we both grew up and started listening to country music), and two of their songs have special meaning for us. One was on a mixed tape that Robert made me, and another one was playing when we were dating, and I pulled over the car on the side of a Minnesota freeway and surprised kissed Robert, so we HAD to go to the concert!
We stayed back about five hundred feet and even though we couldn't see the stage, we had fun listening to the music. Stanton had a great time dancing, throwing rocks at the Victoria Secret window and picking up trash and putting it on top of his head, and Noelle fell asleep. During the show, I just happened to think of the top five reasons why I didn't fit in at this particular place, with this particular crowd, and here they are:

1.) My "Mom" clothes didn't exactly blend in with all of the other ASU girls who seemed to have forgotten most of their clothes at home, especially the one whose shirt said "In Case of Emergency Freak Dance With Me."
2.) When The Ataris sang their song "I Won't Spend Another Night Alone" the first thing that came to mind was how one of my kids always ends up in bed with me at night.
3.) While everyone else was forming a mosh pit, I was in the back doing the twist with Stanton.
4.) The last song I sang before I got to the concert was written by Elmo.
5.) I'm pretty sure I was the only one there who uttered the words "Are you poopy?" during the concert.

All in all it was a really fun night, but next time I think I would rather just put the c.d. on in the car and pull over on the side of the 101 and surprise kiss Robert instead (:

An aWARD-Winning Campout!

Our two day ward campout was a blast! The highlight for Stanton was eating Doritoes for every meal.
We hiked to a natural bridge with the Dibbles, where Bishop saved Stanton from a ten foot drop into the water, and the next day we all climbed over large boulders up to a very high waterfall with a kid to adult ratio of about 4:1
Camping is great because it is perfectly acceptable to let your little boy eat a dirty banana.
And nobody judges you when you let your baby suck on a stick.
Stanton ran and ran, more than I've ever seen him run!
And by the time we got home, he was all tuckered out!

A Few of Our Favorite Things...

Birthday Week's Closing Ceremonies

Robert took me down to Tucson to Cartchner Caverns for the closing ceremonies of my BEST birthday week EVER! We explored the caves, but they wouldn't let us take pictures (apparently they care more about preserving caves than documenting them on blogs.) So Robert had to settle for a picture next to a stilagtite replica. He also came up with some pretty funny stilagtite/bathroom humor.
I was convinced that the sign reading "Do Not Touch Sloth. Alarm Will Sound" was a fake. I was wrong. The alarm was loud.
So my new thing is taking nature pictures cause once I saw a bird with a lollipop in its mouth, and I still regret not snapping a photo of it. Here is my first one from our trip. Reader's Digest may not like my jokes, but I am fairly certain that Arizona Highways will like my pictures.

Like I mentioned before, on birthday week all of my dreams come true, one of those dreams being to toilet paper someone's house. So Emily, Mari and Lynnae accompanied me on my first (but not my last) TP-ing trip, and it was everything I'd hoped it would be!
I brought Stanton too because I didn't want him to turn 27 someday without ever having thrown a roll of toilet paper in someone's tree. He walked around the lawn saying "Woah." He even brought a little scrap of TP home and slept with it that night.
We got Stacy good, and she didn't even catch us. I called to confess the next morning though, a rookie mistake because...
STACY GOT HER REVENGE!!!!!
